Fitting Large Tires!

AJ of J-Max Garage has been working tirelessly to get the car to fit a 275/35/18 on a 18x9.5+15 with ZERO camber. It's not done yet but here are some of the process pictures!

GT35R

I'm really sorry I haven't been updating the blog very often lately. Dead camera, to much work and not enough sleep.

Chasing my lofty power goals required an amazing turbo. At first I considered following the Borg Warner craze as my S200SX was amazing for it's cheap price of $350.00. I was in the market for one but it seemed nobody had a S300SX in stock. In my searching I call Turbos Direct and spoke with Scott. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. He convinced me to go with a GT35R witch I had been considering anyways. They didn't have the turbo in stock and I needed to get my car back up and running ASAP so he actually built a custom 35R with a T04 divided hot side using a slightly larger turbine wheel THAT DAY!

I've never purchased a turbo that cost more then $1000 but now that I have I can say it blows everything I've ever had completely out of the water. Full boost is a 4,000RPM. I'm still working on tuning it with the big injectors and E85 but you can expect a Dyno nearing 600HP soon!

Now for some pictures.

Fuel System Upgrades

With my goals of making 600HP right around the corner I needed to install a fuel system that would support that kind of power while maintaining a level of reliability needed in a track car.

I chose to keep the factory pump in tank as nothing beats Toyota reliability. It's the same pump that the MKIV Supra's have from the factory. It alone would be able to support my lofty HP goal on race gas, but I want to step it up a notch and run E85. E85 is amazing in every right but mainly because it's $2.15 a gallon and 110 octane!

So with E85 in mind and knowing you need 50% more delivery then standard fuel. I opted to purchase a surge tank that houses dual fuel pumps within. Two Walbro pumps were installed as they are cheap and VERY reliable. The surge tank came from a seller on ebay, I think it's a very quality part. The only down side is it's lack of mounting brackets witch I'll have to tig on to it.

My buddy Justin was always worried that when running two pumps and one dies the car will still run but lean enough to detonate. To combat this I wired both up in parallel using one 30AMP fuse. This should pop the fuse and kill both pumps if one pump fails, killing the fuel supply instead of letting her run lean.

An HKS style fuel rail and Injector Dynamics ID1000 injectors were installed. If you ever want to be around me when I'm ready to kill some one, a fuel rail install on a 1JZ with the engine in the car would be the time to see it! I can't say enough good things about the ID injectors. They work better then any large injector I've ever ran. The car starts easy, idles smooth, lag times are minimal and they will flow over 1300cc! The E85 also dropped my EGT's down 1000 degree's and my A/C blows unbearably cold! Anyone who's ever had an E85 tuned car can tell you how hard they can be to start, but not with these bad ass injectors. www.injectordynamics.com

Cage is Done!!

Spent the last few nights working on the roll cage. Still have a few finishing touches to do like padding and other safety features. Painting was a complete chore, and putting ALL the interior in was no easy feat either. I hope Formula D will allow me to keep the carpet but I doubt it as the Garage Boso S15 has everything but the carpet as well.

Big thanks to Drew at Raw Innovations for building the cage! I highly recommend his work to anyone looking to have a cage done or any metal fabrication for that matter! Please take the time to look him up on my sponsors links to the right.

Now for the pictures!!
