Single turbo time!

I'm so sorry for not having a worthwhile update in so long. I've been trying my hardest to finish three large projects on the car for the last several months.

I've finally managed to finish the single turbo conversion, everything was done on the cheap as I'm still a poor privateer.

Specs are Holeset HE351 Turbo with a 9cm hot side. Maxes in power at around 450hp at 34psi
T3 Ebay manifold, 44mm Ebay gate.

System works great but I really want to upgrade to a GT3582R.

Beat Worthy

This weekend Adrian Figueroa snapped some amazing shots of my car. Then to top it all off he got them put up on CANiBEAT.com
Thanks so much for the amazing photos:

What I like to think sets us apart from other car blogs is that here on CanIBeat we are creating a great network of photographers across the country. Most of which can’t stay away from CanIBeat and are continually updating us with their new and inspiring photoshoots. This is certainly true with Adrian Figueroa. Adrian was introduced into the drift scene in Tucson by his buddy Malcolm Flowers (which also happens to be a photographer ) and he’s been hooked ever since. One of the first cars that came to his mind was a crazy, straight outta Japan, ’95 Toyota Mark II driven by the Pro Am Drifter Ben Kunk. Ben Kunk, he told us is pretty much at the top of the skill game down in AZ if not the Southwest in general. Recently visited by the Chicago-based drift team “Risky Devils”, Ben is obviously a known name through the US too. Adrian got to shoot his e85 fueled, caged, DAILY(!!!) drift machine. You don’t see too many of these around.
As seen in the pictures Ben is fitting his new wheels to his liking. The turbo’ed and tuned 1JZ turns the GramLight 57s (18×9.5 +20/+12) to burn the 245/40 in the back around those cones. His future plans are nothing to laugh at. How about a GT3582R tuned to a “minimum of 500hp”. While he’s waiting for the power, the Mark II will be equipped with a new aero kit straight from Japan. Also in the works he’s putting the full interior back in. Ben said he wants to “maintain a car that can be competed in but still very livable on the streets with a/c and a comfy interior.” With the Formula D’s Extreme Drift Championship right around the corner he looks forward to showing her some “wall love.” Much to our relief Adrian says, “You can bet your asses you will see this RHD JDM machine again!” We look forward to it! Thanks for the awesome photos as always. beat on.

Some Risky Love

AJ from Risky Devil came to hang out at my place this last weekend and snapped this shot, witch does a good job of showing her new shoes. I just wanted to say thanks for the love. All the guys from Risky are stand up dudes, hella fun to kick it with and share a love for cars and drifting that rivals all. Please check out AJ's epic sedan @ www.riskydevil.blogspot.com and while you're there poke some fun at Ilia's awesome-town FC. I could go on but it's just best you see for your self!

X-Mas Drift Video

Not my best run and far from my usual level of driving. I am still sorting out the car as you can see from the entry and lack of angle. After the event was over I immediately got to work making some steering angle mods and sorting out the suspension a bit more. The ride looks very soft but it actually was very quick to respond and ate up all the defects in the track surface. I <3 my Ohlins CST's. I've ordered ZG flares and have a new set of wheels on the car to help with the offset I need to get the right amount of steering angle I'll have updates on that soon. Until then enjoy the video!

Wide Band Install

I actually did this install quite some time ago but I forgot to share.

Inovate LC-1 wideband controller with blue led gauge face. After striping the casing off the gauge I was able to make a mount to place it in the factory clock location. You can also see the lighting in the gauges and hvac controls all red leds.

X-Mas Drift 3 - Inagural event for the JZX90

I usher everyone I know to come check this out. If you have a car you can drift this is the event to go to! Even though the cage isn't finished and some other parts still haven't arrived. I've almost finished the tune on my car and I will be there driving regardless! Come check it out!!

X90 Gets a Roll Cage!!

I spent the entire weekend and Monday hanging out with Drew from RAW Innovations building the roll cage in the X90. Drew is one of the best fabricators I know and has been an AMAZING sponsor for the car. I recommend anyone who needs any sort of metal work to contact him. Here are some teaser photos:

Raw Footage

I was digging through my old computer and found some raw footage we took with the old car after I got back from Long Beach on a private closed course. This was all on stock twins at 314hp. The goal was to edit it into some badassery but it never happened. So I figured I would share the footage. If anyone wants the original stuff to play with making a video for me I would be happy to share and promote your skills!
